Time for the techno stuff! We do a lot of picture taking in Mrs. T’s class. Some of the pictures will be outside. One of the rules in picture taking is "The rule of Thirds." Divide the picture in thirds and try to not take the picture in the center. Make it unique and try the side or corner. Another thing to think about is angles. Try taking a picture up high, like on a chair/table, or down low on the ground. The picture improves by just doing something as simple as that.
You will also do a lot of activities online. For example, we have a class website called Trubyville. This is a safe environment for us to post our work and share it with the world. The only people that can add or change anything to Trubyville are the members…you. All year long, Mrs. Truby will teach you new and exciting ways to use technology within the classroom. Another cool website we used was called Voki. Voki is a website where you create an avatar, call the website with a phone and say what you want the character to say. It is a great website, and we had a fun time using it.
Two other cool websites are Fotoflexer or Picnik. These were both some of my personal favorites. These websites allow you to upload your photo(s) and then manipulate the color of the picture.
We use digital and flip cameras, computers and many fun websites throughout the year, so get excited to learn some pretty awesome things.
